New York Weather Alert: Snow and Cold Front Delay Spring

A sudden return of winter weather is affecting parts of the Northeast, including New York, just as spring was beginning to settle in.

A fast-moving weather system, known as a clipper, is bringing colder temperatures and light snowfall across the region. Areas in upstate New York, including Syracuse, have already reported snow, while other cities like Boston and Burlington are also expected to see light snow through Tuesday.

Weather experts say temperatures could drop significantly below normal levels, making conditions feel more like winter again. In some areas, snowfall may range from a light dusting to a few inches, especially in higher elevations.

This unexpected weather change is a reminder that the 2025–2026 winter season is not over yet. Cold winds and chilly conditions are expected to continue for the next couple of days before temperatures gradually return to normal later in the week.

Residents are advised to stay prepared for cold weather, dress warmly, and check local forecasts before heading out. Even though spring has officially begun, winter is still making its presence felt across the Northeast.
